After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart from Moshi and drive to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. The journey will take you through the scenic Machame village. Once you reach the Machame Gate at 1800m/5905ft, you will complete the necessary registration procedures. From there, your trekking adventure begins as you enter the lush rainforest. It is recommended to use trekking poles and gaiters for a more comfortable trekking experience. The day's destination is Machame Camp at 3000m/9,842ft, which will be your overnight stay. In the early morning, you will start your ascent to the summit. The path takes you between the Ratzel glaciers and Rebmann. You will reach Stella Point at 5735m/18,815ft, located on the crater rim, where you can take a short rest. From there, you will continue your journey to Uhuru Peak at 5895m/19,340ft, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro. After reaching the summit, you will descend to Mweka Hut campsite, stopping at Barafu for lunch and some shopping. Trekking poles and gaiters are recommended for the descent, as the terrain can be loose. Finally, you will reach Mweka Camp at 3100m/10,170ft, situated in the upper forest. This will be your last dinner on the mountain. The distance covered today is approximately 13km/8 miles, and the walking time is around 11-14 hours. The habitat transitions from the summit zone to the forest.
